London Marathon 2027 – Running for Mum, and for every breath

In 2024, I ran the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK and raised £2,876 for a charity that was already incredibly personal to me.

I have asthma, and my mum lived with COPD, so when I stood on that start line wearing my Asthma + Lung UK vest, I knew exactly who I was running for.

What I could never have imagined was that Mum would pass away the very next day.

London Marathon will therefore always hold a very special place in my heart. There was so much pride and happiness wrapped around that weekend, followed by one of the hardest moments of our lives.

So in 2027, I'm going back.

I'm running again for Mum. I'm running because I know first-hand what it means when breathing isn't something you can simply take for granted. And I'm running for Asthma + Lung UK because the support they gave me throughout my 2024 marathon journey was incredible.

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. Asthma + Lung UK fights for everyone's right to breathe through research, campaigning and support for people living with lung conditions.

Just £24 can support an early-career researcher to carry out an hour of lung health research, helping to ensure some of the best scientific minds continue working to understand and fight lung disease.

I've committed to raising at least £2,500, but anyone who knows me knows I'm not particularly interested in just reaching a target. I'd love to smash it.
