Marathon Miles for Asthma Awareness

Most people hear a child coughing and think it’s just a cold.

For us, every cough can mean panic.

Watching your child struggle to breathe is something no parent can truly prepare for. The fear in their eyes, the rush for inhalers, the sleepless nights listening closely just to make sure they’re breathing okay — it changes you.

Asthma is often called “manageable,” but behind closed doors it can be frightening, exhausting, and unpredictable. It affects school days, family trips, sleep, confidence, and sometimes even simple things like running around and being a kid.

That’s why I’m raising money for Asthma + Lung UK.

Not just for my daughter, but for every child and family living with asthma every single day. Research, support, education, and better treatments can genuinely save lives.

If you can donate, share, or even just help spread awareness, it would mean the world to us.

Because every child deserves to breathe easy. 💙

Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.

Why this means so much to me

Saturday 16th May
Before asthma became part of our lives, I never truly understood how frightening it could be.

You don’t think about breathing — until you watch your child struggle to do it.

My daughter is bright, happy, full of energy, and like any child she just wants to run, play, laugh, and enjoy life without limits. But asthma has a way of interrupting those moments without warning. What starts as a normal day can suddenly turn into panic, inhalers, sleepless nights, and constantly checking that she’s okay.

As a parent, there’s a helpless feeling that comes with seeing your child scared because they can’t catch their breath. You wish you could take it away from them instantly. You learn to notice every cough, every wheeze, every change in breathing. You become alert all the time, even at night.

Asthma affects more than just lungs. It affects confidence, sleep, school, family plans, and peace of mind. And yet so many families quietly go through the same thing every day.

That’s why this fundraiser means so much to me.

I’m raising money for Asthma + Lung UK to help support families like ours, fund research, improve treatment, and raise awareness about a condition that can be far more serious than many people realise.

This is for my daughter, and for every child who deserves to breathe freely without fear.

Every donation, share, and message of support truly means the world to us. Thank you for being part of this journey.
