I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!
In May 2026, I lost my stepmum Sue to interstitial lung disease, a condition that plagued her for the final few months of her life as she struggled to breathe without the help of an oxygen tank. Ever the trouper, Sue named the tank, and asked whether red wine could be pumped through the mask instead. Sue was 69, full of joy and laughter, and had so much more life left to live. While she was never a runner herself, she supported my running career and encouraged my dad too, taking walks to meet us at Gail’s at the end of our runs. She was there cheering and high-fiving me at my first race, and I know she’d be cheering me on for the London marathon too. Any amount you can give, small or large, would mean the world to me, my dad, our family, and Sue.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2027 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.
Any support would be amazing in my fight for lung health!
