I’m running the London Marathon 2027 in memory of my lovely mum
In 2015, I lost my lovely mum to mesothelioma, a devastating cancer that affects the lining of the lungs.
The following year, on the exact anniversary of her passing, I ran the Huddersfield Marathon in her memory and raised nearly £4,000 for charity. It was one of the hardest and most meaningful things I’ve ever done.
Since then, I haven’t run another marathon. But every year, I watch the London Marathon and find myself inspired by the incredible people taking on the challenge and the causes they support.
Now, ten years on from that first marathon, I’ve been given the opportunity to run the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK.
This challenge is about much more than crossing a finish line. It’s about honouring my mum’s memory, raising awareness of lung disease, and supporting a charity that helps people and families affected by lung conditions every day.
Training for 26.2 miles will be a huge challenge, but with your support, I hope to make a real difference.
Every donation, no matter how small, will help fund vital research, support services and campaigns to improve lung health across the UK.
Thank you for supporting me, supporting this fantastic charity, and helping me carry Mum’s memory with me every step of the way.💙
