London Marathon 2027 – We're doing this together 💜

In 2024, I stood on the sidelines of the London Marathon supporting my wife, Fay, as she ran 26.2 miles for Asthma + Lung UK.

In 2027, I'm joining her.

And we're bringing her brother Mark with us!

The three of us will be taking on the London Marathon together as Team Asthma + Lung UK, and there couldn't be a more fitting charity for our family to support.

Fay lives with asthma and her mum, my mother-in-law, lived with COPD. In 2024, Fay raised £2,876 for Asthma + Lung UK and proudly crossed the London Marathon finish line wearing their vest.

Heartbreakingly, we lost her mum the following day.

That weekend will therefore always be incredibly significant to our family. London Marathon isn't simply another sporting event for us anymore. It represents achievement, family, loss, resilience and doing something positive in the memory of someone we loved.

So we're going back together.

Fay, Mark and me. Three runners. One family. One cause.

I've taken on plenty of endurance challenges over the years, including Ironman, RideLondon and Dragon Ride Wales, but this one will be different. This isn't about proving that I can cover 26.2 miles. It's about who I'm covering them for.

And as if we needed another reason to make the day memorable, London Marathon 2027 falls on my birthday!

Apparently most people celebrate their birthday with cake and a few beers. I've somehow ended up agreeing to run a marathon with my wife and brother-in-law. 😂

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. Asthma + Lung UK fights for everyone's right to breathe through research, campaigning and support for people living with lung conditions.

I've committed to raising at least £2,500, and between the three of us we're determined to make our London Marathon journey count and raise as much as we possibly can.

So whether you're supporting me, Fay, Mark or all three of us, every donation helps us turn a very emotional part of our family's story into something positive for other families affected by lung disease.

26.2 miles.

Three of us.

One very important cause.

And one slightly questionable birthday celebration.

Thank you for supporting us. 💜
