I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to help change that.

In 2027, I'll be taking on the London Marathon in support of Asthma + Lung UK – the only UK charity fighting for everyone's right to breathe. Every pound you donate will help bring us one step closer to a world where everyone can enjoy healthy lungs.

Why Asthma + Lung UK?

This charity is incredibly close to my heart.

Just before the COVID pandemic, my daughter Lauren was diagnosed with severe asthma at the age of 18. Over the past seven years, our family has lived through some incredibly frightening experiences. She has been admitted to hospital multiple times, suffered several life-threatening asthma attacks, and was even admitted to intensive care twice in the same month. Living with the constant fear of another attack has become part of our lives.

Most recently, in May 2026, Lauren suffered another severe attack, triggered by the heatwave and high pollen levels. Thankfully, this time she didn't need intensive care, but she still endured a terrifying experience alone in the resuscitation department.

After spending the last two years cheering on friends running the London Marathon and having completed charity events myself in the past, I realised it was time to take on a challenge of my own.

So, this marathon is for my beautiful Lauren. It's for everyone living with asthma. And it's especially for the 1% of people living with brittle asthma, who face the constant risk of sudden, severe attacks.

Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference. Just £24 can fund an hour of vital lung health research by supporting an early-career researcher, helping to develop new treatments and improve the lives of people living with lung conditions.

If you're able to support me, I'd be incredibly grateful. Your generosity will help fund life-changing research, support people living with lung disease, and give hope to families like ours.

Thank you so much for helping me make every mile count.
