For Allen. My Dad. I’m running the London Marathon 2027 for Team Breathe!

This has been the toughest year of our lives. My Dad suffered with failing lungs for a year and passed away in June. He was peaceful at home but the disease destroyed his independence in the last few months and it was awful to watch him suffer. He loved to be outside. He loved to move. Both were ripped away from him in 2026.

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a killer and it's shocking  to see it take hold of a man who really respected his lungs all his life and loved the fresh air! 

His suffering hammered home that lungs are life, so I'm carrying on my support for the big fight for breath.

I'm determined to make the most of my health and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to represent Team Breathe by running the marathon in my own capital city. 

It's a privilege to be healthy and ask my own lungs to carry me through at The Great North Run, on the Anglesey Coastal Marathon and then in London in April.
