Lungs for London: London Marathon 2027

Every minute, someone is diagnosed with a life-threatening lung condition. This is deeply personal to me because at 17, I experienced a spontaneous double lung collapse, undergoing surgery and months of rehab. Having breath in my lungs was something I didn't realize I was taking for granted. My life was turned upside down in an instant, and I was told that I may never run like an athlete again. 

I took that as a challenge and in 2024, I signed up for my first marathon. Ever since starting my running journey, I have wanted to run for something more personal and so I knew I had to take advantage of an opportunity of a lifetime: next year, I will be running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK to help raise awareness and build a future where everyone has a chance to breath.

I know how easy it is to take breathing, movement, and health for granted.

Running the London Marathon is more than a personal challenge. For me, it is a chance to use every mile to raise awareness, support vital lung health research, and help people living with lung conditions feel seen, supported, and hopeful.

I know how meaningful support and resources can be in healthcare and research, so as part of my marathon journey, my goal is to raise £2,500 for Asthma + Lung UK to support the brilliant minds and research dedicated to lung disease. This opportunity to dedicate and support the same care that I had several years ago for others in need means the world to me.

Everyone has the right to breathe, and that is what I am running for.
