I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!

If you know me, you’ll know I’ve always said that if I ever ran a marathon, my first one would have to be the London Marathon.

Well, somehow, it’s happening! 🏃‍♀️🎉

I’m incredibly proud (and slightly terrified) to share that I’ve been given a charity place to run the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK.

I chose this charity as it is personal to me. In 2022, after months of tests, scans and surgery, I was diagnosed with a lung disease called thoracic endometriosis, a rare form of endometriosis that affects the lungs and chest cavity. It’s a lifelong condition with no cure, and one that impacts my daily life.

It has taken me a long time to come to terms with the fact that this is now my life. There have been times when it felt unfair, and I have never wanted to be defined or limited by it. So in 2023, I took up running.

Training for 26.2 miles with unreliable lungs may not be my wisest idea, but that’s exactly why this challenge means so much to me.

I’m raising money to support vital research, better treatments and support for the millions of people living with lung conditions. I’d be incredibly grateful for any donation, big or small.

Every mile of training is going to be an achievement in itself, and I’m sure there will be many moments over the next few months where I question my decision-making skills. But I also know how lucky I am to have this opportunity.

I’m running this marathon not only to prove to myself what I can do, but also to support the incredible work of Asthma + Lung UK. Lung diseases affect millions of people, yet there is still so much we don’t know. More research, better treatments and greater awareness are desperately needed, and charities like this play a huge role in making that happen.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how big or small the amount, I’d be incredibly grateful. Every contribution will help fund research, support people living with lung conditions, and hopefully bring us closer to better outcomes.

Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research. Every pound raised helps us move closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

And as an added bonus, every donation makes it much harder for me to back out xxxx
