Running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK, in memory of my dad.
I’m running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK, a cause that is incredibly personal to me.
I have asthma myself, so I know how frightening and limiting it can feel when something as simple as breathing becomes difficult.
Most importantly, I’m running in honour and memory of my dad, who was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. He fought his illness with so much strength and courage before he sadly passed away. Watching someone I love so deeply battle such an aggressive form of lung cancer is something that will stay with me forever.
Small cell lung cancer can progress incredibly quickly, and there is still so much more research needed to improve treatment options, survival rates and, ultimately, to one day find a cure. I want to turn the pain of losing my dad into something that can help other people and families facing lung disease and lung cancer.
Every step I take during the London Marathon will be for him — for how hard he fought, for everything he meant to me, and for every family hoping for more time with someone they love.
By raising money for Asthma + Lung UK, I hope to support vital research, better treatments, greater awareness and a future where conditions like asthma and lung cancer no longer take so much from so many people.
No donation is too small. Every contribution brings us one step closer to better treatments, better outcomes and, hopefully one day, a cure.
This marathon is for Baba ❤️
